I think the carrots you are referring to may be the variety Atomic Red. Hope this helps.

How can they bring a certain person close to history? The answer can be found in the fact that the land of Texas is the second largest one in the country of US. This means that there are many secrets hidden around the state. Another reason why people are choosing these opportunities is because of the fact that they want to be close to places that had a great importance in the past, like the Alamo, or other places that was the home of the revolution. It's quite extraordinary to be in a place where there is so much history present, where famous people have done great things or legends were born.

Re: Let the Seeding Begin

great looking modern farmsite,

Re: A Whole Lot of Planting Going On

Here's a great article about some of the recent adventures of Darren Olien, one of the creators of Shakeology. He does all the sourcing of the ingredients, and Beachbody's (and his) standards are extremely high. http://dsc.discovery.com/life/...

Re: Plant Sale at JBG this Saturday!

ok so we had to miss the plant sale today and we are anxious to start gardening - when and where will you be selling plants again? Thanks!

Re: How Many Organic Farms Would it Take to Feed Austin?

You have all seen them, you have all been tempted - the buy a plot of land and get rich nearly quick schemes for Joe Public so they may compete with the big boy developers with the opportunity of buying your very own building plot in a green field site set up by some smooth talking limited liability company. How real an opportunity are these agricultural building plots for the average greedy Joe Punter? I have my views - what about you? Buy cheap and sell high is a great thing if it has no conditions. These small building plots have more conditions to making money than you would imagine with the very first one being - You Have To Get Planning Permission First You Dummy! Well that's easy isn't it?
Keep cooking,

Louis
Dishalicious.com

Re: Looking Back

That flat bread recipe is a good one. Mark Bittman did something just like that a couple of years ago.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04...

I think you've got waaaaaay too much salt in there, though. 2 t. is crazy. I've made that amount of flat bread with 1/2 t. and it's delicious. 1t. of salt contains 2,300 mg of sodium which is the USDA's maximum recommended intake. So you've got twice someone's daily intake in your recipe. If you make that for two and eat with some veg. and maybe a protein, that's a dinner with all of your salt for the day.

One of the great things about cooking at home is the ability to control the ingredients (like using fresh, organic produce from JBG) and make things healthy. I would caution readers to use less salt in that recipe.

Re: Preparing for Spring

"Home Garden" - iPhone Home Vegetable Garden app v 1.4 just released through App Store.

There are five finishes; Tight Top, Pillow Top, Euro Pillow Top, Euro Top and Box Top. The Tight Top is a plain bed mattress. A Pillow Top is an added layer of comfort material that's been attached and has gusseted corners, making it look as though a large flat pillow has been placed on top. A Euro Pillow Top is one with more comfort materials. A Euro Top has the same amount of comfort material but has been attached directly - it looks like a thin mattress has been placed on top of the bed mattress. Finally, The Box top is the same as the Euro Top but is has even more comfort materials.

Re: Let the Seeding Begin

This is only the tip of the iceberg, but if you take your time, do your homework and hire competent professionals to give you advice, there is no reason why you can't achieve your dream of country living.

Re: How Many Organic Farms Would it Take to Feed Austin?

For many, purchasing land can be the route to fulfilling dreams. If owning a piece of land is what you crave, then you'd be hard pressed to find better than acreage for sale in Texas. Consider that American ranching originated from this massive state and it's easy to see why land for sale in Texas is a precious commodity, as well as a solid investment.

Re: JBG’s Vision to Serve Austin

Nice comments on Max's Wine Dive.
